Yesterday I took the camera out twice. The first shoot suffered badly when both film holders failed due to the dark-slide catches separating from the holders, causing major light leakage. No big deal, the weather wasn’t so great anyway. The second shoot was at night on Russian Hill with some friends helping me out. I got exactly what I wanted, however, another film holder problem when both of the shots I took with the wide angle popped out of the film holder and fell into the camera. I’ll probably start taping the sheets down when I use this holder.

How does one scan such a large negative?!

well I suppose one could take an existing scanner and modify it severely for scanning. I just put the film on a wall-mounted light box and take a digital photo. I was contact printing every neg, but that gets expensive and is much more time consuming.

I praise you for your diligence. The last few shots are awesome! The crisp detail on the bridge lights and building windows really shows the capabilities of that massive camera. Is your next adventure making a digital back for it? :)
